What is PDF Editor?
PDF Editor is a free browser-based annotation tool that lets you add text, images, and shapes (rectangles, circles, lines) directly onto PDF pages. It supports multi-page editing, undo/redo, and CJK font rendering.
How to Use
- Upload a PDF file by clicking the upload area or dragging and dropping
- Select a tool from the toolbar (Text, Image, Rectangle, Circle, Line)
- Click or drag on the PDF page to place your annotation
- Adjust properties like font, size, color, and stroke width using the toolbar controls
- Use Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y for undo/redo
- Use Ctrl+Scroll to zoom in/out on the preview
- Click "Save & Download" to export the annotated PDF
Terminology
- Text Tool: Add text annotations with customizable font family, size, color, bold, and background color
- Image Tool: Insert images that maintain their original aspect ratio
- Shape Tools: Draw rectangles, circles, and lines with adjustable stroke width and color
- Fullscreen Mode: Expand the editor to fill the screen with an elements panel on the right
- CJK Fonts: Automatic font detection and loading for Japanese, Chinese, and Korean characters

Limitations / Notes
- This tool is in alpha stage
- Some special characters may be replaced when using CJK fonts
- Very large PDF files may take longer to process
